ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu- is a non-profit autonomous organization focusing to improve the quality of students passing out of institutes and colleges in Tamil Nadu to make them industry ready and immediately employable in the ICT industry comprising the ICT services and the ICT Manufacturing sectors. This will meet the skill requirements of the industry and generate more employment in state especially in tier 2/3 cities ICTACT is governed by an autonomous board of directors with representations from the Government of Tamil Nadu (One each from the IT, Higher Education, Industry, Labor & Employment departments), leading companies in the ICT industry with presence in Tamil Nadu, leading educational Institutions (all Government Universities and other Premier institutions) and Industries like Cognizant Technologies, Tata Consultancy Services etc.

[a] ICTACT Faculty Training Programs and Certifications

  • ICTACT shall  conduct regular training programs to the faculty members in the ICT streams.
  • 10 Faculty members shall be trained and certified for each member institution per year from Engineering Colleges
  • All the training programs of ICTACT are endorsed and supported by leading corporate in the ICT Sector.
  • ICTACT has proposed to conduct the following courses for the year 2010-11.

ICTACT Journal on Communication Technology
ICTACT Journal on Image Processing
ICTACT Journal on Soft Computing

[c] ICTACT Education Portal

  • ICTACT shall provide access to ICTACT education portal to its member institutions.
  • The Faculty members of the member institutions can access the following features of the ICTACT Education Portal.
  • Pedagogy tools
  • Job portal page for students and Placement officer
  • Teaching aids
  • Access to ICTACT News letter
  • Discussion Forum
  • Access to ICTACT research publications
  • Assignments

[d] Research Collaboration

  •  Member institutions can collaborate with ICTACT research centre to apply research funding from Government / Private funding agencies.
  •  ICTACT shall  provide industry inputs from corporate towards the research initiatives of faculty members of  member institutions.

[e] Link to ICTACT Portal

      ICTACT shall  provide a web link to it member institutions in the ICTACT website.

[f] Seminar and Conferences

   ICTACT shall conduct periodic seminars and conferences, for which the member institutions
[g] Technical and Financial Support for Selected Final year projects

  • ICTACT will  support selected final year students for pursuing their final year project work.
  • ICTACT shall provide required financial and technical support with the support of industry.
